Our Story

It all started as a hobby, sewing clothes for my little daughter as she grew up.

I noticed how predictable children’s clothing was - blue for boys and pink for girls, the same patterns over and over. I wanted to make something with more character, something that would express my ideas of children clothes for her to wear.

Todds to Teens

I made clothes for my children from toddlers all the way through to their teens, and today I still do. My son always tells me his friends love the shirts I make him. As they grew up, my focus shifted too. I moved away from children’s clothes and started exploring adult clothing, bags, homewear and accessories.

Having never attended a fashion school or taken any education related to fashion, I’m completely self-taught. My sewing skills today come from years of practice and a lot of trial and error along the way.

Charity Shop Roots

For five years, I volunteered at a local charity shop. I made two collections of my own handmade pieces and donated all of them for the events organized by the charity shop so they could raise some extra money.

During all those years of volunteering, I realised that there were so many donated clothes and materials that could have been given a second life, but instead they ended up in landfills. Around this time, I started trying to live with less waste. Naturally, that crept into what I was making too. That’s really where the idea of ‘preloved, relove’ came from.

The Present

After that, I started sourcing differently. Car boot sales, charity shops, second hand textiles wherever I could find them, rather than buying new fabric.

Now, almost 100% I make combines pieces from my own textile collection with things I've sourced second hand. I love bright, cheerful colours, and adding little details to otherwise plain fabrics. Cross hatchings, visible stitching, small touches that make every piece a little more one of a kind.
